In August, 2011, Derrick Keller was diagnosed with leukemia. This site
is dedicated to Derrick's fight, and inevitable win, against leukemia.
Derrick is a slugging shortstop who will be playing for Southwest
Minnesota State next season. Unfortunately, he has to slug it out with
Luke (leukemia) for a few months first!
St. Louis Park baseball is a close-knit family, and when you pick on one of us you have to answer to all of us! Over a nine-year period, Derrick was a member of Park teams that won a lot of games and gained a lot of respect across the state and beyond. More importantly, though, those Park teams bonded in a unique way, and though the games ended, the friendships never will, and teammates have become brothers for life.
If you ever played baseball for Park, cheered from the
stands, or just appreciate the special bond that teammates have for each
other, stand with us in helping Derrick, the best teammate a player
could have.
On November 27, 2011, we will be holding a benefit to help Derrick at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park, MN 55426. Join us on November 27th from 5pm-7:30pm for "Help DK Knock Out Luke Night!" Stop by for a delicious spaghetti dinner, buy tickets to participate in our "Chance to Win" drawing (iPad, Kindle, autographed sports items, etc), and buy a DK>Luke bracelet!
